Janes Solicitors acting in Official Secrets Act case

Richard Cannon is acting for submariner Edward Devenney who appeared on the 13th November before Mr. Justice Saunders at the Central Criminal Court in respect of alleged breaches of the Official Secrets Act.

Mr. Devenney entered pleas of guilty to two allegations, one in respect of the Official Secrets Act and another concerning Misconduct in Public Office. He pleaded not guilty to another allegation regarding the alleged passing of secret information in breach of the Official Secrets Act which the Prosecution will not be proceeding with.

The case was adjourned until 12th December when sentence will be passed.
